Throws

For single beds, a standard single blanket works best. A double or queen blanket gives more coverage for shared beds, while king-size options ensure full drape and warmth on larger mattresses. At Pep, you’ll find all these sizes at budget-friendly prices, making it easy to pick the right fit without overspending.

Yes — Pep offers lightweight, soft blankets sized for children and babies. They’re made with breathable, gentle fabrics that provide warmth without overheating. Because Pep focuses on value, parents can pick up multiple blankets for home, school, or travel without stretching their budget.

A throw is smaller, often decorative, and perfect for couches or layering at the end of a bed. A blanket is larger and designed for full coverage and warmth during sleep. If you want comfort plus style, many Pep shoppers buy both — a throw for living spaces and a blanket for the bedroom.

Cotton blends are soft and breathable, fleece provides lightweight warmth, and microfibre gives a plush, cosy feel. Pep stocks all these materials in different sizes and colours at affordable prices, so you can choose the fabric that matches both your comfort needs and your budget.

Pep’s range includes classic fleece blankets, patterned designs, neutral basics, and trendy colours that suit any home. Whether you’re buying a simple everyday blanket or one to match your room décor, Pep’s wide variety ensures you’ll find something that fits your style without overspending.

Pep is one of the most accessible places to shop for blankets in South Africa. With options for adults, kids, and babies — and fabrics ranging from breathable cotton to warm fleece — Pep makes it easy to find quality at prices designed for everyday families. And with lay-by available, you can secure larger blanket purchases now and pay them off in smaller instalments.

GSM (Grams per Square Meter) is the metric for a fabric's density and weight. Higher GSM = Thicker, Denser, and Warmer. You can judge GSM by weight: a blanket that feels heavy and dense in your hands will have a high GSM and will keep you warmer.

The best way to trap heat is by creating multiple thin layers rather than one single heavy layer. Air trapped between the layers acts as an insulator. Start with your bed sheet, then a thin, flat fleece blanket, and top it with a heavy comforter or a dense, high-GSM blanket. Tuck the bottom layers (sheets/light blanket) tightly at the foot of the bed, but leave the top comforter layer loose for maximum movement and comfort.

A Woven blanket is made by interlacing two sets of yarn (warp and weft) to create a flat, strong, durable fabric (like a cotton-rich blanket). A Knitted blanket is made from a single yarn looped together. This creates a much softer, stretchier, and generally chunkier texture that traps more air for warmth. Choose a knitted blanket for a soft, decorative, on-trend look and a woven blanket for durability and breathability.

Yes, a Comforter Set is typically sold as a coordinated bundle (Comforter + Pillowcases) and offers a significant saving over buying pieces individually. Sets are designed to ensure an exact colour and pattern match, guaranteeing a unified, 'put-together' look for your bed immediately.
