Huawei

Huawei products at PEP range from around R399 for the E5576 4G mobile router to about R2,999 for the Y73s smartphone. The Y-series smartphones sit in the affordable range, while the router is a budget way to get internet for multiple devices. Pricing depends on whether you need a phone or a portable router.

Newer Huawei phones use Huawei's own AppGallery rather than Google Play, so some Google apps may not install directly. WhatsApp and many popular apps are still available, but check the product page if you depend on Gmail, Google Maps or banking apps. This is the most important thing to confirm before buying a Huawei phone.

The Huawei E5576 is a portable 4G MiFi router that creates a WiFi hotspot from a SIM card, letting several phones, tablets and laptops share one mobile data connection. It is ideal for homes without fibre, students, or families who want shared, affordable internet on the go without a fixed-line contract.

The Huawei E5576 router can connect multiple devices at the same time over WiFi, making it suitable for a whole household to share internet from one data SIM. Battery life lets you use it away from a plug. Just insert a data SIM, switch it on, and connect your devices to its WiFi network.

The Huawei Y73s comes with 128GB storage, giving plenty of room for apps, photos, videos and music for everyday use. Many Huawei phones also support a microSD card to expand storage affordably. For most users 128GB is comfortable, but a memory card is a cheap way to add more space later.

Yes. The Huawei Y73s has a capable main camera that handles everyday photos, social media and video calls well, and Huawei is known for solid camera tuning even on affordable models. For casual shooting and sharing on WhatsApp or Facebook, it is a strong choice in this price range.

Yes. The Huawei Y73s has a large battery designed to last a full day of normal use, including calls, WhatsApp, browsing and social media. Huawei phones are generally efficient with power, so you can get through a typical day on a single charge before needing to recharge overnight.

Yes, the Huawei Y73s is Dual SIM, so you can use two SIM cards in one phone — for example one for calls and another for cheaper data, or to keep work and personal numbers apart. This helps you manage airtime and data costs without carrying two phones.

Huawei phones and the E5576 router work on major South African networks — Vodacom, MTN, Telkom and Cell C — so you can use your preferred SIM and data deal. For the router, choose the network with the best data price and coverage in your area for the most affordable internet.
