Women's Sandals & Flip Flops

Flip-flops are light and easy for the beach, pool and quick trips; slides are backless and simple to slip on for casual wear; strappy sandals have straps across the foot for a more secure, dressier look. Choose flip-flops or slides for casual ease, or strappy and heeled sandals for a smarter summer outfit.

Flip-flops and moulded or rubber slides are best for the beach and pool as they handle water and sand and dry quickly. Woven, strappy and block-heel sandals suit everyday wear and dressier outfits but are less suited to getting wet. Choose water-friendly styles for swimming and neater sandals for daily wear.

Sandals should hold your foot securely with straps that don't dig in, and your foot shouldn't hang over the edge of the sole. For strappy styles, check the straps sit comfortably; for slides and flip-flops, your foot should sit neatly on the footbed. If between sizes, choose the one that keeps your foot on the sole.

Flat sandals and low block heels are better for lots of walking, offering stability and comfort, while higher heels suit shorter, dressier occasions. Cushioned flat sandals or a low block heel with secure straps are the most practical for a day out. For all-day summer wear, prioritise a secure, comfortable flat.

Strappy flat sandals, woven slides and block-heel sandals in neutral or metallic tones dress up easily for an evening out with a dress or smart outfit. A block heel adds a little height with comfort. Choose a neat, secure style rather than a casual pool flip-flop for a smarter summer-evening look.

Wipe sandals clean after wear, especially after the beach, to remove sand and salt that can wear down straps and footbeds. Let wet sandals air-dry away from direct heat. Storing them out of prolonged sun helps prevent fading and cracking, keeping your summer sandals in good shape for the next season.

Break new sandals in gradually at home, and if straps rub, a little anti-blister balm or a plaster on the sore spot helps until the straps soften. Choosing the right size so straps aren't too tight or loose prevents most rubbing. Softer or padded straps tend to be kinder on the feet.

Adjustable and multi-strap styles tend to suit wider feet better, as they can flex to your foot shape, while fixed slides may feel tight. Choosing a size that keeps your foot on the sole without straps digging in is key. If you have wide feet, look for softer, adjustable or open styles for comfort.

Yes, PEP accepts returns and exchanges of unworn footwear in line with its current returns policy, so try sandals on indoors on a clean surface and keep the box — check the latest conditions and time frame in-store or online. Keep your proof of purchase and return them unworn if the fit isn't right.
