School Shoes

PEP is the ultimate destination for school shoes! We offer a wide range of smart, durable, and highly affordable school shoes for boys and girls of all ages.

Yes, we do! We stock classic lace-up shoes for older kids, buckle-up shoes for girls, and easy slip-on or Velcro designs for the younger ones.

Choose shoes with a secure, comfortable fit and a little growing room, a sturdy sole for daily wear, and a fastening your child can manage. Decide between leather and synthetic based on durability and budget. Have both feet measured, check your school's shoe rules, and buy black lace-up or Velcro styles to be safe.

Regular polishing, letting them dry naturally when wet (never put them on a heater!), and encouraging your kids to undo the laces before slipping them off will extend their life.

Leather shoes are durable, breathable and mould to the foot but cost more; synthetic shoes are cheaper and often easier to wipe clean but may be less breathable; and Toughees is a trusted brand known for hard-wearing leather school shoes. Choose based on durability needs, breathability and your budget.

Most South African schools require plain black school shoes, often lace-up or simple Velcro, without bright logos or colours. However, rules vary, so check your school's shoe policy before buying. Choosing a plain black style is the safest way to meet most schools' requirements and avoid buying shoes that aren't accepted.

For leather, wipe clean, dry naturally and polish occasionally to keep the uppers supple; for synthetic, wipe with a damp cloth and let dry. Keep both away from direct heat that cracks material. Airing shoes and rotating pairs, where possible, keeps them fresher and helps them last the school year.

Yes, Pep accepts returns and exchanges of unworn shoes with the box in line with its current returns policy, so try them on indoors on a clean surface — check the latest terms and time frame in-store or online. Keep your till slip and don't wear them outside until you're sure of the fit.
