School Bags

PEP is South Africa’s favourite store for school bags! We stock a wide variety of strong, stylish, and highly affordable bags to suit every student's style.

Yes! Our school bags feature reinforced stitching, heavy-duty zippers, and strong shoulder straps specifically designed to carry heavy books.

We have something for everyone: classic backpacks, ergonomic trolley bags, fun character bags, and simple drawstring bags.

Yes, many of our bags feature handy side pockets for water bottles, front zip pockets for stationery, and spacious main compartments to keep everything organised.

Match the bag to your child's age, size and what they carry: a backpack suits most children, a trolley bag helps if books are heavy, and character bags appeal to little ones. Look for sturdy straps, a comfortable back and enough room for books and lunch. Check the size fits your child's frame.

A backpack is lighter, more versatile and fine for most children, while a trolley bag (with wheels and a handle) helps when books are heavy or your child has a long walk, sparing their back. Trolleys are heavier empty and awkward on stairs and rough ground. Choose based on load, distance and terrain.

Look for wide, padded shoulder straps, a padded back panel and a chest or waist strap, which spread weight and keep the bag close to the body. Worn on both shoulders and packed sensibly, these features reduce strain. For heavy loads or long walks, a trolley bag can spare the shoulders altogether.

Look for strong, reinforced stitching, sturdy zips, tough fabric and well-attached straps, as these fail first under daily heavy use. A durable bag survives being dropped, stuffed and dragged. Buying a slightly sturdier bag can save replacing a cheap one mid-year, offering better value for an active child.
