Yes, many South African PEP stores offer lay-by, which helps you budget for bigger home updates. You choose your duvet cover now and pay it off in smaller amounts. It’s an easy way to get quality bedding without paying everything upfront.

What are the standard dimensions for a South African Queen or King Duvet Cover?

Our duvet cover sizes follow the standard South African bed sizes to ensure a proper fit over the inner. Queen is typically 230x200cm. The King size is slightly wider and often longer (e.g., 230x220cm or 240x220cm) and is designed to have an ample drape on a King mattress. Always buy a duvet cover that is the exact same size as your duvet inner (e.g., 230x200cm cover for a 230x200cm inner) for the best fit.

Will my new Microfibre Duvet Cover print fade in the wash?

Microfibre is highly resistant to fading because the dye is deeply set into the synthetic polyester fibres. To ensure longevity, always wash the cover inside out on a cold cycle to protect the print surface from friction against the drum. When drying, hang the cover in the shade or inside out, as prolonged direct sunlight is the only significant fading risk.

How do I choose between a Quilted Comforter and a Duvet Set for warmth?

A Quilted Comforter is often a denser, single-piece item that tends to be warmer than a lightweight duvet inner, making it great for deep winter. A Duvet Set is highly versatile because you can swap the inner (e.g., a lightweight 4.5 Tog inner for summer, or a heavy 13.5 Tog inner for winter). Choose the Comforter for instant, year-round warmth and simple bed-making; or get the Duvet Set for maximum temperature control.

What’s the easiest way to put on a duvet cover?

Use the inside-out (burrito) method to insert quickly and evenly. Turn cover inside-out, roll with inner, flip the opening over, then unroll. Tie/clip corners first (if available) to prevent shifting.

Can I use a duvet cover by itself in summer?

Yes.. Use the cover without the inner as a lightweight layer on hot nights. Cotton or cotton-rich covers feel cooler and breathe better.

How much drape/overlap should a duvet cover have on the bed?

A properly sized duvet cover should provide enough overhang on the sides and foot of the bed to cover the top of the mattress and the base. For King beds, look for covers with a generous width. A cover with 20-30cm of overhang on each side is generally considered ideal. If the cover is too big for the inner, it will look floppy. Ensure the inner size exactly matches the cover size for a crisp, neat drape.
