Pep takes on TOP Tv

On Saturday 01 May 2010, a new South African pay-TV operator - On Digital Media (ODM) - launches 55 local and international channels on its Top TV platform. PEP is selling the Top TV decoders and, for the first time, delivering affordable subscription satellite TV to the majority of South Africans through its  1100-strong store network..

Offering the customers maximum choice and affordability with bouquets ranging in price from R99 to R249 per month, Top TV has 34 ‘new-to-the market’ channels, nine music video channels and 25 new music audio services. The packages will provide comprehensive coverage of genres, including general entertainment, news, sport, movies, gospel and many more. Nine of the channels are locally produced and offer a mix of local and international flavours.

PEP is the largest single brand retailer in Southern Africa and is also the biggest seller of both cell-phones and pre-paid airtime in South Africa.  Top TV is being sold on a pre-paid basis, so PEP will be playing a huge role in delivering this product to South Africans who could not previously afford pay-TV channels.  No credit checks or contracts are required so the Top TV product offering is extremely attractive to PEP’s customers.

PEP’s special introductory offer of R499 includes the decoder, satellite dish and standard installation.
